Influenced by Kiefer, I embedded items found around the subject area (eg rags, card) into the surface texture. I also incorporated photos into the background, then spread a thick, textured coat of emulsion over it all. I also carried on the idea of duplicating the same image in two different ways; firstly with the painted sewing machine, and secondly with the outline painting of the sewing machine, and the fineliner, and fineliner onto photo study of the screw. I also dripped and dry brushed paint over the piece to recreate the 'messy' environment of the workplace.
